Simplified Shipping
Shipping small quantities of roasted coffee to other countries is possible. The National Federation of Coffee Growers allows courier shipments, that is, door-to-door shipments between countries up to a maximum quantity of 50 kilos.
However, it is important that the interested person knows the requirements for importing coffee. In many countries, legislation allows natural persons to import such quantities of coffee without paying tax. In other countries, on the contrary, it is required that it be a company with an import permit and a tax is required on the product. In other countries a certain labeling standard is required.
With this simplified shipping modality, it is intended that both Colombian coffee producers and buyers can consume and market coffee from small quantities without having to be large foreign trade companies.
